The Walking Debt

My head was in a funk the other day so I did something I haven't done in a long while. I went for a walk. Here's the thing about this city, you don't walk anywhere. ANYWHERE. The shops, the cinema, work, the park, nowhere. I'd been working at the computer all day and I wanted to clear my head so I went for a walk. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, I had nowhere I needed to be so, Forrest Gump-style, I just started walking... and it was lovely.

The following day, instead of tearing off to the gym in the car, I went for a walk again and the next day.

This morning I headed off in a new direction, from Crescent Heights down 6th Street. I wounded up about a mile and a half away from my house, saw all these beautiful mid-town properties and then headed back home. It's such a good way to start the day. It planted positive thoughts in my head, I got to enjoy the sunshine and I got some much needed exercise - that was outdoors, something I realised I haven't done for ages.
