I went to see this film a few weeks back but was so close to the screen that I couldn't tell if it was any good. I'm talking front row close, which I would never normally do.
When you're that close, everything seems insanely melodramatic. Every close up is throwing out an image of a 10 foot face and nothing says drama more than a face the size of house.
The film was good up until midway (if you ignored the stupidity plot points) but then the bad guys became cartoon villains who wanted to 'destroy the world mwah ha ha ha ha ha!'
What had been a credibly set up film then got a bit silly as Gerard Butler's character fought single-handedly to save POTUS and the whole darn world.
I was sort of interested the whole way throught but it was a bit of a three star affair. I feel like I've written about this film already but I can't be bothered to look. Oh well.
